Industrial Controls, an ERIKS company, to host the 2018 Automation & Controls Symposium

PITTSBURGH, Nov. 1, 2018 – ERIKS North America-owned company Industrial Controls has opened registration for the 2018 Automation & Controls Symposium. The free, one-day event will take place on Friday, Dec. 7th, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Newark Airport in Newark, New Jersey. Thomas J. Burke, president and executive director of the OPC (Open Platform Communications) Foundation, will deliver the keynote address.

Now in its seventh year, the Automation & Controls Symposium is a premier learning and networking event for professionals in the infrastructure, power plant, water, transportation, and building automation industries. This year’s event is focused on connecting intelligent processes, plants, buildings, and people.

“Industrial Controls hosts the Automation & Controls Symposium each year to bring together professionals from various industries,” says Joe Callaghan, Regional Vice President at Industrial Controls. “This event is all about solutions, and it offers attendees an opportunity to meet with some of their industry’s most innovative manufacturers, discuss their products and services, see live demonstrations, and attend educational seminars.”

The keynote address will be presented by Thomas J. Burke of the OPC Foundation. Mr. Burke’s address will examine the OPC Unified Architecture (UA) standard, the most widely adopted interoperability standard for the secure and reliable exchange of data in the industrial automation sector and other industries. The OPC UA standard is platform-independent and ensures the seamless flow of information among devices from multiple manufacturers with robust security.
